Family Dental Care
Did you know that most of our practicing dentists have children? That means we have real-world experience along with the practical knowledge and experience needed to provide your family with child-friendly dental care. You can rest assured that we will work hard to make sure your family’s dental experiences with us are positive ones!
We are open 6 days a week and have evening appointments Monday to Wednesday. If booking your appointments as a family is the most convenient way for you to visit our office, we would be happy to accommodate. We will schedule each appointment within a similar time frame when it is convenient for you.
Children’s Dentistry
At Westney North Dental, we focus on family dentistry. Our emphasis is on total preventive care for all of our patients. Total care begins with regular hygiene visits, regular check-ups and continued home oral health routines.
We provide many preventative measures to keep your child’s teeth clean and healthy including sealants and fluoride treatments. We also educate parents in the early detection of some common problems children may face including thumb sucking, bruxism and baby bottle tooth decay.
Our primary goal for your children’s dental development is to achieve and maintain optimum oral health their whole life long.
First Dental Visit
We recommend a child’s first dental visit by age 3. It is very important to make the first visit positive and enjoyable. We want your child to enjoy getting to know our doctors and staff and be comfortable at all times. A pleasant, comfortable first visit builds trust and helps put your child at ease during future dental visits. We are a very child-friendly office, with amenities that kids love such as TV’s in every room, a treasure chest, headsets and iPods.
A child’s first visit to the dentist is an exciting, new experience for them. We try to make every visit fun. Our doctors and staff will explain everything in detail and will answer any questions your child may have. We are experienced in dealing with children and can explain treatment procedures in a positive and pleasant manner using language children can understand.
Our Dental Centre records your child’s dental and medical history, complete a comprehensive examination and discuss any findings with you. We will also review the importance of maintaining a good dental health program with you and your child to ensure a healthy and beautiful smile for life!
